From time to time we send out our e-newsletter. It is the best way to find out about what is happening at Eastside and any offers or late availability.

Haircuts at Eastside!

It is almost that time of year again where we start shearing (or clipping) the Blackface ewes on Eastside. Ali has started on the Hogs (one year old) sheep already with the ewes that have been nursing lambs gathered later.  The hogs are clipped earlier than the ewes owing to the ‘rise’ in the wool. The “rise” is the new wool growth that is easily clipped through and this “rise” grows earlier on the hogs without lambs to feed.
