Eastside | A Gathering film

As the sheep business runs quite literally along side the holiday cottages we are always keen to share the comings and goings of the farm with our guests.

Eastside farms 1200 hectares. The sheep are farmed on an ancient system called “hefting” and they literally have the run of the place. At certain times of the year for shearing or marking, where we choose the lambs for stock or sale, we ‘gather’ the sheep bringing them off the hill & down to the farmstead.

All change for the Steading cottage this summer!

We have been very busy this summer giving the Steading Cottage a new look in the cosy cottage bedrooms upstairs. As well as working on the decor we also took the opportunity to change the heating onto our Biomass boiler system, making your stay a little greener with all heating and hot water generated by wood fuel grown on the farm.
