From time to time we send out our e-newsletter. It is the best way to find out about what is happening at Eastside and any offers or late availability.

What’s On in Edinburgh September 2016

« back to all posts

This month is all about a good old fashioned detox after the excesses of the festival. Travel down the coast and spend the morning at Fletchers Cottage Spa, lunch at the Secret Herb Garden, & get out & explore the hills all whilst raising money for charity in the Pentland Push annual walk.

Spa day

Fletcher’s Cottage Spa | Archerfield House
Archerfield Spa is a haven of rustic luxury right at the heart of the Archerfield Estate overlooking the enchanting walled garden (featured in the Sunday Times Travel Top 6 British Spas and the 2014 Tatler Spa Guide). This autumn they are offering a full day spa package for £149 with a fabulous face & body treatment… if you ever want to leave your champagne & log burner that is!
For a treatment list, spa days & booking, see the website.

Lunch spot

Secret Herb Garden
Tucked away in the rolling countryside on the edge of Edinburgh lies The Secret Herb Garden: a rather magical herb nursery with lunch and cakes served in their eclectic mix of garden huts & green houses. Lunches are simple but spectacular, including salads with herbs and edible flowers, homemade cakes and herbal teas dried from the nursery.

See the website for opening times.

Explore the hills

The Pentland Push (Saturday 10th September)
‘The Push’, taking place in the Pentland Hills Regional Park is the ultimate cross-country challenge. Get on your hiking boots, get a team together and tackle the rugged terrain of the Pentland peaks. There is a choice of three distances, so everyone can take part and complete a distance that will challenge them. It is a beautiful scenic route, and The Push volunteers will make sure you are fed and watered along the way.

Think you are too late to enter? Why not join The Nudge. Challenge the family to a five mile orienteering course. There'll also be entertainment, live music and games all set against the scenic backdrop of the Pentland Hills. The Nudge is free to enter, all you have to do is turn up on the day and join in the fun from 1pm.

For more information see the website.
