The hills are a vivid purple with the heather in flower at this time of year. An August walk in the Pentlands is punctuated with the blooms of the old-fashioned hill grasses and herbs. Look carefully for tasty wild blaeberries to pick and lucky white heather!

On the farm, the sheep are gathered. The first of the lambs off to market and wool is packed off to Galashiels for grading and sale.

For an unusual field to fork dining experience we highly recommend a summer evening at The Free Company. An old farm steading on the edge of the Pentlands turned rustic supper club venue. Booking essential.
